A New Era For 3D Sensing

MD42 Key Features

Introducing the MD42 Development Kit. This new kit is based on the Open Development Platform (ODP), allowing you to quickly create a custom Lidar platform in 3-6 months. They are based on our Modular Hardware platform and Modular Software stack, making it easy to utilize our Software-defined features through APIs. These features include the ability to create Regions of Interest dynamically, enabling you to develop your unique applications using Foveation, Virtual Lidar, HCM, HDR, and Line scan modes. The Region of Interest feature allows for an extended range in specific areas, higher frame rates, and higher resolution as needed.

Key Advantages of the MD42 Development Kit

Out-of-the-Box
Developers want to quickly set up the tools and hardware to evaluate and learn about the new MD 41. The Development Kit includes software, cables, and power supply to simplify this process, allowing developers to focus on their applications.

Evaluation
For key performance indicators (KPIs) such as resolution, point cloud quality, multipath performance, and ROI capabilities.

Prototyping
The next step a Lidar System user or developer will want to take is to integrate MD41 into a potential application or use case and create a proof of concept to validate the system’s functionality and provide an early demo.

Demonstration
Finally, to demonstrate applications utilizing the ROS framework or an internal framework via integration with APIs.

The MD42 is specifically designed for a wide range of applications. Its high-performance features, seamless manufacturability, and lightweight build, and exceptional reliability due to an all-chip design make these systems highly suitable for robotics, surveillance, forklifts, and automotive L2+/ADAS. They are well-suited for ensuring safety and navigation in environments such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and drones.
